Goodness I have been having a real hard time tryin

Goodness I have been having a real hard time trying to come back to this platform. I have been away from posting from it for almost a month. Mainly because I have been soaking up summer with my family when I can, when I am not photographing memories I am making my own. This summer feels super nostalgic for me. Summers are now boxed up into two months where my girls are not in school and don’t have a routine. Now they are about heading to the lake as much as we can and enjoying our days together. Today I went through their clothes in preparation for heading back to school and it darn near killed my heart. They have grown so much in the last year and immensely in the last two months. So this is where my heart is at. I hope your summers are amazing. Make sure you’re soaking it all in. Every little bit of it.

As of late, I have been no stranger to immense los

As of late, I have been no stranger to immense loss. My heart is hurting. I know death is inevitable but no one is ever ready. My Shadow deserves a permanent space on the grid. This past Friday afternoon we lost our last fur baby. After teachers college Matt and I moved in together. We rented this cute house on Hilliard street in Peterborough. While he was working in construction and I was serving and supply teaching I had a lot of time to myself and really wanted my own kitty. Shadow was given to me by a cousin. He was a true barn kitty and was a cranky old man from the beginning. The first few months he would sleep nestled in my armpit. I soon realized he was my cat and I was his one and only person. He had been named a few nicknames over the years devils spawn and was even named Satan in our wedding speeches by a dear friend. Although he wasn’t the sweetest cat to everyone we really were his humans. He was so sweet with my girls and they loved to cuddle him. He loved taking his half out of the middle sleeping between Matt and I. He loved to snuggle up while watching tv especially when I was pregnant with the girls. I am going to miss him so much. He has been with me through a lot. I at least got to hold him as we went. I am going to miss the late night editing sessions with him on my lap. 15 years of his little purr and cuddles. I am going to miss you so much. Thank you for picking me as your favourite human. ♥️
