Ganaraska Forest Centre WeddingBrittany & Cam

Super exciting to sharing Brittany and Cam’s beautiful wedding at the Ganaraska Forest Centre. I so enjoyed being a part of their day.

How did you meet?

Cam and I met at Head of the Trent after we both graduated. Although we shared some classes and some friends in common we did not officially meet until after graduation. We realized quickly that we had a lot in common and don’t know why we didn’t meet earlier. After many years of camping adventures, live music and family time Cam proposed on the Hunter Street Bridge, overlooking Peterborough at night. Peterborough is where we met and now where we call home, so it was a pretty special moment for us both. He did an amazing job designing a custom ring for me and keeping it a secret the whole time, I was so surprised! We spent the rest of the night sipping drinks and planning our future in our favourite downtown restaurant, St. Veronas.

What are your top 3 best moments that happened during your wedding day and why they are your favourite?

The absolute best part of the whole day was when Cam and I did the “first look”. We were both a little bit nervous while getting ready but as soon as we did the “first look” all of the nerves and stress washed away. It was also nice to just have some time alone before the ceremony to enjoy the moment. The sunset photos were another highlight, because we got to sneak away and dance on our own in the forest at sunset. Aside from all of that just being with family and friends all day and celebrating our marriage made for the best day ever!

A piece of advice for other couples getting married.

A piece of advice that was given to me that I always like to share is… don’t worry about the small details, because none of the guests will even notice. Don’t let the napkin colour or seating plan (hardest job ever!) bring you down. Enjoy the small moments during the planning as well as during your day. Keep in mind that it is your day to share with your new spouse, so take some time and just be with them to listen and take in all the joy happening around you, for you.
