Sydenham Ridge Estate WeddingBailey & Randy

I first met Bailey and Randy last summer at the beautiful Hilton Falls for their engagement session (See it HERE).We had such amazing time getting to know each other. This summer I traveled to Strathroy Ontario to the beautiful Sydenham Ridge Estates for their wonderful wedding. One of my favourite moments of the day was when half way through Bailey and Randy’s first dance they broke out singing “Love is an Open Door” from Frozen. Honestly you have to hear these two perform, amazing!

Words from the amazing couple about their day!

How did the two of you meet and fall in love?

We were both in the show the Wedding Singer about 9 years ago! I was the lead in the cast and Randy was the bass player in the band. We had some sort of connection the moment we laid eyes on each other in rehearsal. I remember going over to some of my girl friends and commenting on the “cute bass player in the fedora”… which led my friends to tease me often about my giddiness whenever Randy and I were around each other. Our friendship grew throughout the run of the show and we stayed in contact afterwards through Facebook and occasionally meeting up to hang out. Eventually we couldn’t deny that we were crazy about each other, so we agreed to go out on a date and the rest is history!

How and why did you plan your wedding evening the way that you did?

A wedding is a celebration of two lives coming together forever and that’s exactly what we wanted it to be – a CELEBRATION! It’s easy to get caught up in all of the serious traditions and standards that surround a wedding. We wanted it to be easy-going, fun for everyone, stress-free, and relaxed because that’s what a celebration and a party should be! We had the mindset of “if we’re going to host a summer party, with the biggest budget we’ve ever had for a party, it better be the BEST party ever”. And it was!

Randy’s favourite moment?

We stepped out shortly after dinner to take some photos at sunset and while we were coming back, we could hear our friends and family in the barn having a great time. When we got to the barn, we kind of just stood there for a second and looked around. It was so amazing to see all of the people we loved gathered in one room – to celebrate us!

Bailey’s favourite moment?

My dad’s wedding speech included a rewritten version of the song “I Love This Bar” by Toby Keith. He had prepared little lyric sheets that he handed out to everyone there, except for Randy and I, and they all sang along in the chorus with the words “We love this barn”. I just remember watching everyone smiling and singing along together with those words and I don’t think I have ever felt so much love in my life. I know everyone else could feel it too and that’s what made it so special.

Advice for couples who are currently planning their wedding?

There is no reason to stress or get caught up on the little things. It can be easier said than done but just remember that there’s nothing to stress about over the celebration of your lifelong commitment to the love of your life! At the end of the day – you are with your other half and that’s literally all that matters. Also, try and take a moment on your wedding day to just stand at a distance from your guests, even for just 10 seconds, and do nothing else but just watch them. It’s so unbelievably special seeing everyone you love in one room having a great time together at the celebration of your marriage… and you’ll probably never have all of those people in the same room again.
